Capral Funding For Jobs

CAPRAL Aluminium is continuing its financial support of the Lower Hunter Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) at Kurri Kurri.

The funding will ensure the ongoing development of the BEC's business incubator.

The incubator is a Federal Government initiative which houses 11 businesses.

When construction is completed it will provide accommodation for 28 small businesses in start-up mode.

The business incubator idea was floated by Cessnock City Council in 1996 and has been operating for the past two years.

Four tenants have already moved into mainstream commercial premises.

BEC chairman Stephen Pyke said the assistance from Capral was welcome.

`The support will allow many other small business entrepreneurs an opportunity to establish using the incubator as a stepping stone to their ultimate success,' Mr Pyke said.
